Flight 4 Life Parajet Expeditions

In 2012 Parajet supported two intrepid pilots when they took to the Australian skies in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest continuous flight by a powered paraglider.

48-year-old adventurer Mark Jennings-Bates was anxious for an adventure to create awareness about his favourite cause, Rally4Life, as he prepared to become the first Canadian to complete the gruelling Dakar rally. So, to generate momentum and prepare both physically and mentally, he teamed with fellow Canadian Glenn Derouin in an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by circumnavigating the coast of Australia.

After starting in Townsville on February 8th, the team encountered some of the most demanding and challenging weather conditions Australia could throw at them including rain in Queensland, flooding in New South Wales, strong winds in Victoria and opposing winds in Western Australia. Despite the challenges, the team were able to complete the expedition in record shattering time. The previous record of 8,008km held by Ben Jordan in Canada took place over a 4 month period, the Flight4Life team were able to complete over 8,500 kilometres in approximately half that time and achieve a new Guiness World Record, quite an accomplishment in the weather conditions.

Donations are being accepted for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Rally4Life, details on the two charities and how to donate can be found at http://www.theflight4life.com
